Rolla Milton Tryon : ウィキペディア英語版
Rolla M. Tryon Jr.

Rolla Milton Tryon, Jr. (1916–2001) was an American botanist who specialized in the systematics and evolution of ferns and other spore-dispersed plants (pteridology). His particular focus and interest lay in two areas, historical biogeography of ferns and the taxonomy of tropical American ferns.
==Career==
Tryon received his Ph.D. at Harvard University in 1941, where he was influenced most heavily by Merritt Lyndon Fernald and Charles Alfred Weatherby. Following appointments at the University of Minnesota and the Missouri Botanical Garden, Tryon returned to Harvard in 1958, where he and his wife Alice Faber Tryon spent the majority of their professional careers.〔 The couple wrote a complete survey of ferns, with emphasis on tropical America, which was published in 1982.
